My heart belongs to Milo. Yet in true girl dog meets boy dog fashion, he doesn’t have a clue!

He thinks he’s so cool in his little doggie shorts and matching hats. Every day a new dog harness, dog sweater, dog shoes. The girls at the dog park drool. So many pups in the pack, What’s a gal to do?

Mom says “chin up Sasha.” She tells me it’s not over till the English Bulldog howls, although I don’t know how she can howl, what with the restriction of that “Does this Shirt Make Me Look Fat” shirt she’s wearing.

I think Milo knows my name; apparently my new fire engine red pawdicure had the fellas talking. His best friend Chico always wags his tail when I walk by. Mom says my haute canine couture and sparkling personality turned his head, which was even more gorgeous once I noticed his fancy dog collar and designer leash. Yet one can never be too sure. He’s been a little down lately.

The new Mastiff in the area, who has obviously been on a shopping spree for big dog clothes, strutted into the dog park wearing a “I had a nightmare I was a Chihuahua” shirt, and poor Milo, who is a Chihuahua, hasn’t been the same since. Chico’s been working over time, trying to perk up his friend, keeping him busy playing fetch and chasing the squirrels.

I’m going to make sure I’m super friendly. I live across the street and sometimes bring friends home. One day, I’m sure Milo will come to visit, grab a tall drink of water from my dog bowl, maybe lounge on my eco-friendly dog bed. Before you know it he’ll be head over paws.

I know exactly how it’ll be…I’ll get to wear a white designer dog dress and some sparkling bling. Milo and Chico will wear their formal wear too! We’ll have a fabulous posh doghouse and white picket fence, and get whisked away in a limousine; maybe hang a “just married” sign and tie some pet food cans to the back. I’m already planning our future. Nice wonderful honeymoon on a beach somewhere. Probably need to get a pet carrier for the airplane though. But don’t forget the luggage tag! And I’m envisioning all of the small dog clothes we will need to get for the puppies I hope to adopt from a shelter.

Still, one must not get carried away or anything. I wonder if they make breed specific gifts… you know, for the registry. Oh come on, every girl wants to live happily ever after, like Cinderella when she got a ball. Or was it went to the ball? Well, you know what I mean!
